Texas A&M University Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) offers many fun options to keep you healthy and active throughout your college years. We have something for everyone, whether you want to work out, join a club, take a fitness class or go on an outdoor adventure.

Rec Sports has six facilities located around Texas A&M’s College Station campus for students to engage in a wide variety of physical activities. From swimming to rock climbing and personal training to group yoga classes, you are guaranteed to find fun ways to stay active.
The Student Rec Center is Rec Sports’ main location, offering 500,000 square feet of space for activities. Amenities include an archery room, group activity rooms, an indoor climbing facility, an indoor lap pool, a natatorium, a strength and training room, an outdoor activity area and basketball and racquetball courts.
The Southside Rec Center is located across the street from the Commons Residence Halls. Amenities include a strength and conditioning space, two multisport courts, two sand volleyball courts, and lawn and turf spaces for outdoor activities.
The Polo Road Rec Center is a 28,000-square-foot facility connected to the Polo Road Garage. It offers group fitness classes, a large strength and conditioning area, and personal training services.
The Physical Education Activity Program (PEAP) Building is located on West Campus and offers a variety of fitness and wellness classes and features areas for gymnastics, fencing, yoga, self-defense and Pilates.
The Omar Smith Instructional Tennis Center is on West Campus and has 18 tennis courts. Rec Sports partners with PEAP to offer students this tennis center, which is used for health and kinesiology classes and recreational use by Rec Sports members.
The Penberthy Rec Sports Complex is an outdoor field facility on West Campus consisting of about 50 acres of play space with both turf and grass fields. The complex is available for drop-in recreation, intramural sports, sport clubs and special events.

Drop-In Fitness and Recreation
No matter what kinds of exercise you prefer, you’ll find the space and equipment you need at our Rec Sports facilities. Just check facility hours, grab your Aggie ID, water bottle and towel, and stop by for a workout.
Rec Sports offers several aquatics programs to help you improve your techniques in the water. You can become certified in scuba, learn how to swim, work as a lifeguard or relax in one of our pools.
Our Indoor Climbing Facility features a rock-climbing tower and a bouldering wall for climbers of all skill levels. You can rent gear, purchase climbing passes, take classes or reserve the facility for private parties.
Texas A&M Rec Sports offers various fitness and wellness group classes, boot camps, trainings, events and outreach. Commit to improving your fitness by joining one of our programs.
The Texas A&M Sport Clubs Association gives you the chance to develop athletic and leadership abilities and compete against clubs from other institutions at the state, regional or national levels.
Dozens of intramural activities are offered at a minimal cost each semester through Rec Sports. Unlike sport clubs, you will only compete on our campus against other Texas A&M students.
Rec Sports offers a variety of fun activities through Outdoor Adventures. Go camping with a group, rent from our selection of outdoor gear, learn rock-climbing skills and find other new ways to get outside.
