Welcome to the website for the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academics. Our office is responsible for all aspects of the vibrant teaching, research, and service activities at Texas A&M University. Some notable facts about our institution are:
- We have a total of more than 2,700 faculty members, more than 400 of whom have been hired in the past four years under one of the most aggressive faculty hiring programs in the world.
- We offer more than 120 undergraduate degrees and more than 240 master's and doctoral degrees as well as a doctorate in veterinary medicine. Many of these programs are ranked among the very best in their respective disciplines.
- More than 2,000 companies actively recruit our graduates through the University’s Career Center.
- Research expenditures for fiscal year 2006 totaled approximately $500 million for Texas A&M University, including the agricultural and engineering experiment stations.
- To support our new faculty members and help ensure excellence in our educational environment, Texas A&M had approximately $500 million in new construction underway at the beginning of 2008.
