Research Enterprise
The Texas A&M University System’s research enterprise stretches across many fields and entities. It joins researchers from Texas A&M, research centers and institutes, state agencies and industry. The ultimate goal of our research is to turn basic research into results that directly benefit humans.
University Research
Texas A&M University is one of the largest research universities in the United States. Our faculty generated more than $1.278 billion in research expenditures in fiscal year 2023, while enhancing undergraduate and graduate education with hands-on research opportunities.
Texas A&M is one of only 24 institutions in the nation to hold the triple designation as a land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant university, reflecting the wide variety of research conducted here daily.
Centers and Institutes
Finding solutions to the world's most challenging problems takes collaboration. That's why our research centers and institutes bring together scholars and scientists — often from different disciplines — to tackle these challenges.

Industry Engagement
Texas A&M's researchers collaborate with industry partners to help advance research innovation and find ways to get their research into the marketplace where it can improve people's lives.
Commercialization
Research that doesn't leave the lab isn't helping people. That's why we encourage our faculty researchers to license their technology and innovations so they are available to the public.
